Experts Explore How Smart Wearables are Connecting the Dots at CES Wearable Technology Summit
Day-Long Conference and 4-Day Exhibition Spotlights Companies and Leaders at the Forefront of Mem Sensors, Flexible Batteries, Smart Glasses, and More
January 7-10 at CES Las Vegas

[Las Vegas, NV] – In 2020, the words “you are what you wear” take on a new meaning as sensors, clothing, watches, and a bevy of new wearables that monitor everything from your body temperature to your hydration level take the stage at CES. If you can measure it, you can wear it. January 7-10, 2020 the Wearable Technology Summit at CES Las Vegas will feature a day-long conference and 4-day exhibition devoted to exploring this increasing presence of wearables in enterprise, healthcare, fitness, sports, fashion, and everyday life. Taking place at The Venetian, the Summit is produced by Living in Digital Times (LIDT), a CES conference and events partner.

“From your wrist to your ears and from your eyes to outer garments, wearables are a part of our routine.  According to Market & Markets Research, the Wearable Technology industry is expected to reach $51.6 billion by 2022,” shared Julie Sylvester, Wearable Tech Summit Producer. “This year’s summit highlights the technological advancements and new products, and we can’t wait to take a deep dive into the new innovations in the industry.”

The day-long Summit on Wednesday, January 8 will kick-off with multiple sessions highlighting new form factors, conductive fabrics, embedded biometric measuring tattoos, flexible batteries and their affected changes in fashion, retail, and personal style.

A few topics include:

  • “Geek Meets Chic - The Marriage of Creativity,” a panel of innovative leaders in the industry will discuss wearables tech’s past, present and future.  Panel includes Steven Webster of asensei, Kathleen McCarthy, Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, Sarah Wang of BrainUp and Alodeep Sanyal, Life Plus.
  • Michael Yang, Managing Director of OMERS Ventures, will wrap up the morning session looking at the investment/IPO scene for wearables.
  • “Wearables and the Productivity Upgrade,” features John Rogers, Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Medicine at Northwestern University, who will share research that has led to removable tattoos that measure hydration and UV rays and Wim Vanheertum, Wizard of Growth at Wearin', who will discuss wearables in enterprise and the military.

Top members of the medical community, fitness trainers, nutritionists and physiologists will weigh in on the ins-and-outs of using wearables to escalate our paths to wellness. Herberto Calves, president of myxFitness, discusses how strategic industry partnerships can expedite the path to wellness and NASCAR champion, Julia Landauer, addresses how she uses technology when she is racing. Sharad Mohan of Trainerize, Dr. Cedric Bryan of Ace Fitness Council, and Dr. Ted Vickey of Fitwell, all leaders in the world of fitness, will join as well.

In “The Peloton Factor,” December Labs’ Elisabeth Bohlmann chats with partner Apollo Neuro about the perfect balance of high touch design and technology.
